AI and Youth: Balancing Innovation and Responsibility

Healthy Heart Organisation’s Executive Director, Japhet Rugema, has urged youths to be mindful of artificial intelligence (AI) and not be overly influenced by it, despite its contributions to the labour sector. Speaking at a Youth Talk in Dzaleka, Rugema highlighted both the benefits and risks of AI, warning that it could encourage laziness and reduce commitment.

While some attendees agreed that AI might dominate human labour and increase unemployment, others saw it as a tool that enhances productivity. Guest speaker and AI expert Remy Gakwaya encouraged youths to embrace AI wisely, leveraging ICT training opportunities to develop skills and adapt to technological advancements.
