Tumaini Festival, the world's first and only international festival held inside a refugee camp, is a shining example of how art, culture, and music can foster social inclusion and intercultural harmony. Taking place in the heart of Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi, this annual event transforms the camp into a vibrant tourist destination, drawing thousands of people together to celebrate diversity, promote peaceful coexistence, and support the economic empowerment of refugees.
One of the key principles of Tumaini Festival is its commitment to inclusivity. While the festival cannot cover international travel costs for participants coming from outside Malawi, it provides local transport, meals, accommodation, when necessary to artists coming from out of the Central Region.
